The X-Ray technician was excellent, it took only five minutes for the images. My appointment was 1 o’clock. I arrived on time the girl at the front desk, just looked at me and pointed to the sign in sheet. I did that she waited about 10 minutes while talking on the phone and then said you can sit down now. The other young lady at the desk, Was on the phone, it sounded personal and chewing gum. In other words, the reception area is less than professional, none verbal to customers.
I waited 30 minutes for my appointment. There were no other clients in the office at that time.
This took place at the Santa Maria office. My regular dentist is Cali Dental in San Luis Obispo.

For the most part everything went as I’ve come to expect from most Drs offices with this younger generation which I do my best to ignore and let another situation put them in their place better than I can but now comes the doctor. She asks me where’s my swelled tooth. So I ask swelled tooth? Is that even a thing? And she says you need to calm down sir in the most condescending tone. So I let her know this appointment is over I will not be spoken to by anyone like that . And if you’re telling somebody rather than asking to calm down give some consideration to the fact that you could be the reason they’re not calmed down and you need not be so ill spoken a swelled tooth doesn’t exist maybe swollen but not swelled. I stood up and walked right out of the appointment. Normally I wouldn’t have been so hung up on such a detail but if the dentist of all people in a dental office can’t take the time to learn to speak intelligently what else aren’t they willing not to learn in their profession. A dentist in their office setting is the one with highest level of training and education allegedly and need to act and speak accordingly. At least in my own experience a situation like that sets a unnerving precedent for the treatment that’s to follow based on 2 similar situations. The higher up the rank you climb the higher the standard one is held to so the you need to calm down sir comment was a comment better left unsaid and kept to herself. And the arrogance in which it was said was thoroughly disgusting. I’d rather remain in excruciating pain then be spoken to like a child.

I had my first visit here and I will say it’s not like any dentist visit I’ve had in my life. Extremely unprofessional at check in, all 3 at front desk were in hoodies and flannel shirts. After a 30 min wait I was called back for exam and X-rays. It took two techs to complete them which was unlike anything I have ever experienced. Short wait for Dr to exam and I shared w both tech and Dr I had w a small chip in front tooth. I needed a cleaning as well since it’s been just over a yr. Dr stated she wouldn’t recommend anything for my chip as a filling would fall off and had no other recommendations which seemed very odd. After. 20 min the tech came to do the cleaning. It was extremely quick however not one word was spoken (even an introduction). My teeth aren’t smooth, which has always been the best part of a cleaning in the past. Very very unusual experience for a man that had always had dental visits every 6 mos most of his life. Won’t be back.
