What a wonderful experience! From the minute I walked in to the minute I left I truly felt so comfortable and everyone was so kind. I’m traveling from out of town and bent a wire in my braces which caused me a lot of pain. I called and they got me in same day and Dr. Comfort is one of a kind and if I lived in the area he would be my new dentist, you can really tell he loves what he does. Such lovely people and a beautifully clean and welcoming office space. Highly recommend and if I’m ever in need of help again, Dr. Comfort is my go to! I switched dental providers in Mammoth Lakes after one of the other offices in town sold to a new grad dentist. Wow!! That was a great decision. Dentists get a love or hate kind of reaction from patients. Do I love Dr. Comfort? I've never asked myself that question. But I can tell you that he and his team are awesome. His knowledge is among the top providers in the industry and he is passionate about what he does for a living. Some dentists go to dental school because they want to make money. Not Dr. Comfort. He is truly engaged and every time that I have been there I have walked out happy. In a small community where our options are limited, I am very happy that there is someone like Dr. Comfort to fill the needs of the locals. Other providers in town are too scared of liability with narcotics. Dr. Comfort knows what he is doing and acts in the best interest of his patients with every interaction. I highly recommend his office for your dental needs.

Dental emergencies are stressful enough at home — try having one in the middle of a ski trip. I broke a temporary bridge on my very first night in Mammoth and, figuring I'd be suffering through the weekend, took a shot and called Dr. Comfort's office on a Saturday night. What happened next genuinely surprised me: he answered the emergency line himself and told me to come in first thing the next morning. Dr. Comfort had the problem diagnosed and fixed in no time, teaming up with his assistant Stacy to get everything sorted smoothly and efficiently. These two are the real deal — professional, friendly, and the kind of people who clearly love what they do. You can just tell. Long story short, they completely saved my weekend. My dentist back home even looked at the work afterward and was impressed. If you find yourself in the Mammoth Lakes area and need a dentist you can actually trust, don't hesitate — Dr. Comfort's office is the place to go. Christopher and Stacy, you have no idea how grateful I am!

I had an excellent experience at Dr. Comfort’s dental office. From the moment I walked in, the staff was welcoming, professional, and made me feel completely at ease. The office is clean, modern, and very well run. Dr. Comfort is truly outstanding, he’s thorough, gentle, and takes the time to explain everything clearly without rushing. I felt listened to and genuinely cared for, which makes such a difference at the dentist. The entire team works seamlessly and clearly puts patient comfort first. I was even offered a warm blanket during my procedure 💕 I highly recommend Dr. Comfort and this office to anyone looking for top-quality dental care in a calm, friendly environment. You can tell they take pride in what they do!

Public Notice Regarding Emergency Billing and Insurance Documentation: Prospective patients should be fully aware of the financial and billing practices utilized by this office during emergency scenarios. On April 9, 2025, an upfront cash payment of $2,600.00 was extracted as a strict requirement prior to rendering emergency surgical care. Following a 69-day administrative delay, this provider submitted an official American Dental Association (ADA) claim form to Delta Dental of California intentionally inputting "$0.00" as the submitted fee for multiple major surgical codes performed. By masking the thousands in cash collected from the insurance compliance system, the provider circumvented PPO network caps, collected a second direct payout from the insurer, and caused a severe, artificial distortion on the official insurance ledger. This deliberate double-ledger accounting format has caused significant third-party legal complications regarding verified medical out-of-pocket records. This matter has been formally escalated to Delta Dental’s Quality Management Division, their Risk, Ethics, and Compliance Department, and the Dental Board of California. If you have been subjected to this identical upfront cash-extraction practice by this office, please immediately file an official complaint with the Dental Board of California or reply to this review so we can coordinate data for the ongoing regulatory investigation. UPDATE: After I posted this review, Stacy contacted me and asked me to remove it, explaining that their billing issues were due to "their system not working." However, the office did not offer to correct the charges, issue a refund, or otherwise resolve the situation. I chose to let Delta Dental complete its investigation instead. After reviewing the claim, Delta Dental determined that I had been overcharged by approximately 82% and issued a refund accordingly. If you ever feel that a dental office has billed you more than your insurance says you owe, don't just accept it. Contact your insurance company, ask them to review the claim, and don't be afraid to dispute the charges if something doesn't seem right. In my case, taking the time to challenge the charges made all the difference.
