She is a Springfield native who graduated from Glendale High School, earned her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science from Lynchburg College in Lynchburg, Virginia, and went on to earn her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She also serves on the dental board of the Greater Springfield Dental Society.
