Dental Care Associates refused to see my daughter over a $98.02 bill that had already been sent to collections because they apparently could not collect it themselves. Refusing care over such a small amount — especially in a rural community where families have limited options — shows a shocking lack of compassion and ethical responsibility.
What is most disturbing is the message this sends: patient care clearly does not come first when financial hardship is involved. A healthcare provider should never make people feel disposable because of their economic situation. Policies like this disproportionately hurt working families and people already struggling to access care.
To make matters worse, this policy is not clearly disclosed anywhere obvious on their website, leaving patients blindsided when they try to schedule care. Operating with this kind of disregard for transparency and humanity is shameful.
I would strongly encourage anyone looking for respectful, patient-centered care to seek treatment in Bismarck or elsewhere.
This review made me select a "star". My option would be no star at all!

This place is brilliant. Judgement-free and informative, won't push you into unnecessary procedures, and understanding of the fear a lot of people have over dental work. I've felt comfortable every time I've gone. Great staff, great work.

Doc John and Amy are the best. Great clinic, great workmanship. Worth the 5 hour flight every time. Yes, we fly in from San Diego.

The dentist is absolutely phenomenal—I’ve had truly wonderful experiences here. Even when I was dissatisfied a few days later, they promptly addressed the issue at no cost. I’ve been visiting them for over two years, and every visit has been positive. I can’t recommend this place enough!

About Dental Care Associates
Dental Care Associates is a family and cosmetic dental practice located at 3112 16th Street Southwest, Suite A in Minot, North Dakota. The practice describes its approach as quality family dentistry at affordable prices, offered in a friendly and caring environment, and it accepts most dental insurances to help with costs. Services include dental implants, dentures, bridges, crowns and veneers, teeth whitening, fillings, extractions, root canal treatment, digital X-rays, conscious sedation for anxious patients, and same day urgent care appointments. The practice notes that it received the Minot Area Chamber of Commerce Eagle Award for Excellent Customer Service.
For patients in Minot and the surrounding area who are missing one or more teeth, the practice uses dental implants to replace individual teeth or groups of teeth, or as anchoring points for removable dentures. Dr. Nathan Deeter has completed surgical implant training, which allows him to surgically place most dental implants, so many implant procedures can be completed from start to finish at the office. The practice states that a typical single tooth replacement ranges from about $3,000 to $6,000 depending on factors such as insurance coverage, implant location, any site preparation needed, and whether a temporary tooth is required during healing, and that the procedure is fully explained before any work begins. Dental Care Associates is currently accepting new patients and also honors CareCredit financing.
