After our dentist closed in Vacaville, Dr. Carlson sold his practice to Freedom Dental. I had nothing but issues with this dentist. I was asked to find a different practice after I politely asked questions regarding medical necessity regarding my son's wisdom tooth extraction. We ended up finding a different oral surgeon and while getting that 2nd opinion, it was confirmed we were being "upsold" with services that were not needed by freedom. I'm so glad we went somewhere else. Now I am trying to deal with them about a billing issue that they didn't process correctly and I'm starting to get really frustrated. Heather has got to be one of the most unprofessional people I have ever come across. Today I had to raise my voice on the phone because she kept trying to talk over me. She doesn't listen, she has no empathy and as the office manager she should understand that there is information that should be shared with patients ahead of them getting a bill that was never discussed. Receiving a bill from a 3rd party after all communication indicated everything was either covered by what I paid in person for the procedure or would be covered by having double dental insurance is ridiculous. Totally feel like I was sold a lemon used car and blindsided when the extra fees adding up without any communication on the front end. If accurate information would have been shared up front and I was treated like a human being, I wouldn't be nearly as frustrated. Freedom Dental doesn't care about the patient, they operate with the ideology of "you get what you get and you cant throw a fit."

I've had several great experiences with the staff and doctors at this dentist office in the past, but my recent visit was frustrating. I was quoted $800 for a root canal by Heather in the front office. The next week after the procedure I was told suddenly the price had changed to $1,088. This left me confused and frustrated, as I had agreed to the original price. When I tried to address the issue with Heather over the phone, she was incredibly rude and dismissive. She interrupted me repeatedly and wouldn’t let me explain my situation. Ultimately, she hung up on me, which was very unprofessional and added to my stress. Trying to call back to discuss this again with them after being hung up sounds ludicrous to me. Now, I'm still in pain and unsure if the root canal was performed properly. I no longer feel comfortable returning to this office, so I’m seeking treatment elsewhere. It's disheartening that a previously positive experience turned into such a negative one due to poor communication and customer service. My husband tried to address this with both dentists as well and they weren't interested. It's a shame they are losing myself and my husband and our 3 children as customers over this one experience. Again I will state I made an attempt to discuss this as well as my husband with both dentists. Telling me to call the office to discuss this is ludicrous and shows me I made the right decision having my entire family leave this office.

Dr Justin! You are amazing i saw you yesterday and with all your knowledge and compassion n gentleness was sooo amazing! i asked a question and you answered me and gave me choices on a metal based tooth attachment that i didnt think i could afford and you made possibly!! So greatful thank you for an amzing visit! it not only made my day but made my year!!! ill see you in a few weeks!! Have a great weekend! sincerly, Deanna G

I had a root canal at this location, and Dr. Zhu is the kindest doctor I've ever met. He and his team made me feel safe and comfortable. The front desk staff is very friendly and attentive. Francisco, Jackie, and Samanta are very professional and always greet me with a smile. His assistant, Delmy, is very attentive and kind and made sure I was okay throughout the procedure. Dr. Zhu made this procedure painless. He is an amazing and humble doctor. Heather, the office manager is definitely a kind and professional person. You can tell she cares about her team; when the front desk was busy helping other patients, she made sure I was well taken care of. Thank you, Dr. Zhu and staff, for this wonderful experience.

Kids receive prizes after appointments which motivates good behavior during visits and creates positive associations with dental care that will benefit them throughout their lives going forward definitely
