recently became a new patient and wanted to offer some constructive feedback. The staff was pleasant, but I felt there was an unusual amount of personal questioning during my visits. Even though my new-patient paperwork already included information such as my age and employment, I was repeatedly asked if I was retired, where I lived, whether I lived locally, and whether I had family in the area. understand that people are often just trying to make conversation and get to know their patients, but as a new patient, some of these questions felt a little too personal and somewhat intrusive. I believe those kinds of conversations are better allowed to develop naturally as a relationship is established.
I’m sharing this respectfully because I hope the office will take it as constructive feedback. A welcoming environment is important, but patients should also feel comfortable setting their own boundaries around personal information.
