I had an excellent experience with Dr. Villano. I got all my wisdom teeth extracted. Dr. Villano was very nice and thorough at the consultation and explained every detail to me showing me my X-rays and why exactly they recommend extractions, and what kind of extractions they would be. The process itself was comfortable (I was sedated) and post op recovery process has been much better than I anticipated - his team did the procedure so well to minimize pain (probably included some treatment during the procedure for that), I was so surprised I barely felt any pain during my early recovery even with the expected swelling, even with some tricky extractions. The stitches etc were expertly done and I had no bleeding beyond the early end of the time frame they said I would. I got clearly written recovery procedure and in my experience they respond quickly to any calls and questions (I did not try the weekend and evening lines but they said they do respond to calls outside office hours). Of course oral surgery is not fun and recovery can be long but I could not have hoped for a better experience. I highly recommend Dr. Villano for oral surgery needs. He and his team seem very experienced. I was also able to get an appointment quickly with a referral and they had surgery dates within a few days of my consult even though it was not really an emergency.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel it’s important to share my experience. I have severe dental anxiety from traumatic childhood dental experiences, so compassion and clear communication are extremely important to me. Unfortunately, I did not feel either during my wisdom teeth extraction. The dentist had very little bedside manner. He came across as cold and lacking empathy, which significantly increased my anxiety before and after the procedure. I was also left attached to the X-ray for several minutes after my X-rays were completed while staff members chatted around the corner. After I woke up from anesthesia, I was told, “Oops, the blood pressure monitor was unplugged. That’s probably why it wasn’t working correctly.” Hearing that after surgery was alarming and made me question whether I had been properly monitored throughout my procedure. I left feeling unsupported, disturbed, stressed and scared. I hope this office takes patient care, communication, and monitoring more seriously so that others, especially those with dental anxiety, have a better experience.

Ok. So as far as getting wisdom teeth out... I thought, "What a crazy thing to review?! I mean, how can that be a good experience?!" But let me tell you- Dr. V is skilled beyond compare. I had an entire, huge old wisdom tooth extracted and I never. Even. Had. To. Take. Tylenol. My friends. How is that possible? How is it possible to have a good experience with this?? I'm not sure where in the universe my karma bank was so full that I was blessed with the gifted fellow that Dr. V. is. This guy is skilled. He's been in the biz for over twenty years. And! He does his own IVs for general anesthesia. As someone who works in the ER, a doc who does that is unheard of. I also have terrible veins and that guy got it on the first try. I wish I could thank him a thousand times. I put off this damn tooth extraction for FIVE YEARS and did he shame me? Hell no. He just went about his business like any other Tuesday. Dr. V, if you ever read this I want you to know that you are appreciated. You deserve the best. I hope you get a solid Hawaiian vacation and like the twelve days of Christmas for eternity. You are the cream of the crop hidden in a corner of Eugene, Oregon. I wish the world knew of your wisdom tooth removal skills. Whew.

They were very skilled and gentle during my oral surgery. It was my first time getting surgery and they really put me at ease and explained the procedure thoroughly. I was completely pleased with the outcome. All of the staff were extremely friendly and it made my visit more comfortable.

5+ stars in every way for Dr. Villano! Office staff and surgical assistants are efficient, respectful, and personable. This was my second time with Dr. Villano for tooth extractions and I will recommend him as an oral surgeon to anyone I know. I had five teeth extracted and I experienced no pain whatsoever during the procedure. My healing is proceeding without any issues.
