Meet the Doctors

Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Group is served by a team of six oral surgeons. Dr. Steven P. Quinn, DDS, joined the practice in 1989. He grew up in Springfield, attended Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri, completed his dental education at the University of Missouri School of Dentistry in Kansas City, and completed his Oral Surgery Fellowship at Gundersen Medical Foundation, Lutheran Hospital, in La Crosse, Wisconsin, where he served as Chief Resident in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Thomas A. Collins Jr., DDS, joined the practice in 1993. He earned his dental degree at the University of Missouri School of Dentistry in Kansas City, completed his oral surgery internship and residency at Chandler Medical Center at the University of Kentucky, and pursued additional fellowship training in advanced facial reconstructive surgery and oral and facial cosmetic surgery. Dr. J. David Gipson, DDS, MD, joined the practice in 1997. He completed his dental education at the University of Missouri School of Dentistry in Kansas City, earned his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, and completed his internship and residency as Chief Resident at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dr. George E. Arquitt, DDS, MD, joined the practice in 2002. He completed his dental education at the University of Oklahoma, earned his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, and completed his internships and residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident for two years. Dr. Christopher M. Meyer, DDS, MD, joined the practice in 2007. He completed his dental education at the University of Missouri School of Dentistry in Kansas City, earned his medical degree from the University of Missouri School of Medicine, and completed his internships and residency at Truman Medical Center in Kansas City. Dr. James T. Shaner, DDS, joined the practice in 2021 after leaving active military service. He completed his dental education at the University of Missouri in Kansas City and served as a Captain in the United States Army before completing his oral and maxillofacial surgery training.
