Went in for wisdom teeth removal. Staff was very friendly and comforting. Was put to sleep, fell asleep almost immediately. Regained consciousness in the car. Was given lots of instructions on how to properly heal. Was also given plenty of medicine for both pain and healing. Staff called shortly after to check up on me and see if I needed anything else. Overall could not ask for a better experience when it came to wisdom teeth removal. Thank you! (Had Dr. Zouhary)

i was referred here by my dentist for wisdom teeth extraction. i was originally scheduled w dr fuqua but rescheduled because he gave me a weird vibe at the consult. i ended up seeing dr johnson for my extractions. idk if they were behind or if this is normal in this setting but it felt like everyone was in a rush. once it was my turn, several girls came into the room to get started. i was sedated without warning which is kinda wild. when everything was finished, and i came to, i was alone in the room except for one girl who brought me out to the person who drove me. it was a really weird and alienating experience. nothing was explained ahead of time. no one really talked to me before or after. it felt like they were in a rush to get me in and out. is this how it usually goes? idk. on paper i consented to everything but really not a fan of how that went lol. the actual extraction was quick so thats nice and i feel like i was given plenty of medication for recovery. i probably would not come back here again if i need oral surgery in the future though.

I had a tooth extracted today, as well as 1 last month. I saw two different surgeons. I have to say that Dr. Johnson and Dr. Zouhary are AWESOME! The staff are equally as AMAZING! I have panic disorder and adjustment disorder, and during both procedures I was made to feel safe and secure. I was put at ease by the caring and compassionate nature of the staff. It also helped that I was distracted by the wonderful sense of humor these folks have. Thank you just doesn't seem like enough. Thank you for taking such good care of me and making both of my extractions as easy breezy as possible!

It has been a few years since my experience, but it was so traumatic, it was difficult to speak about it. I had 2 studs put in to hold in a top dental plate. My final check up to clear me was done by a different surgeon because mine had left for maternity leave. I had had zero issues. The new surgeon was a male that I had never met before. The minute he came into the office, the first thing he did was start berating me for being a smoker. He started lecturing me and asking me if and when I was going to quit. I told him I had tried numerous times and had lost my father because of it. It was something I was ashamed of and to please understand it was more difficult than it sounds I had tried everything including hypnosis. He was very aggressive and very rude. He told me I would likely lose my implants because of it. He then checked them and said see, you have a knot here that is infected and this one has to come out. I told him the little bump he was referring g to had been there all along. The original surgeon had seen it. That I was not having issues with them, at all. He insisted it was infected and extremely dangerous to leave it and demanded I come back to have it removed the following week. I asked if the antibiotics he was prescribing me wouldn’t take care of the issue and he said it was too late for the implant. He made me come back and he removed the implant. I am a disabled veteran and I take care of my mother and I had saved up to get those dang implants and guess what.. that stupid little bump is STILL THERE! Honestly think he got off on treating me that way..

About Oral & Facial Surgery of West Georgia - Columbus

Oral & Facial Surgery of West Georgia is the Columbus, Georgia office of Oral & Facial Surgery of East Alabama & West Georgia, a full-scope oral and maxillofacial surgery practice with additional locations in Opelika, Auburn and Alexander City, Alabama. The Columbus office is located at 4405 North Stadium Drive, Suite A, and is open Monday through Friday. The practice focuses on dental implant surgery and wisdom tooth removal, and describes itself as a regional referral center that coordinates care with each patient's referring dentist.

For patients missing one or more teeth, the practice places dental implants, small titanium posts set into the jawbone that serve as a stable foundation for replacement teeth made by your restorative dentist. The surgeons can often place implants on the same day a tooth is removed, and they offer bone grafting and sinus lift procedures when there is not enough bone to support an implant. For patients missing most or all of their upper or lower teeth, the practice offers Teeth in a Day, also known as All-on-4, which replaces a full arch with four to six implants and attaches a temporary set of teeth the same day. The practice uses cone beam three-dimensional imaging for diagnosis and treatment planning, and sedation and anesthesia are part of its surgical care. Pre-operative and post-operative care instructions, insurance information and financing options are available on the practice's website.
