My first appointment was today and I had a great experience! The place is set up so nice and I loved the atmosphere. I’ve honestly never had a dentist go over my teeth the way that Dr April Kern did. She was very thorough and went over everything with me more than any other dentist has. I felt so comfortable talking with her and happy with the outcome. I recommend them to everyone!

The receptionist Kim is very sweet and works hard. I love her. The whole dental team that I met was nice and kind, as well as very helpful and very excited to get a plan for treatment. They are all very personable and awesome. I highly recommend.

Had my first visit with them today it was a very good experience. Everyone was very nice and very empathetic. They do not make you feel bad because your teeth are not perfect. They know you’re there for a reason and they wanna see you get a better smile they They explained everything in detail the back office staff and the dentist were very nice. Would highly recommend this office.

Staff were friendly and professional, the venue was clean and modern. I particularly liked the detail of the scans of my teeth, which allowed me to see for myself my true dental condition. I was also presented with care options, to which I was again pleasantly surprised. This was my initial visit, and based on this experience I feel confident and comfortable with Pleasant Valley Smile Studio providing my dental care.

DO NOT GO HERE! Routine cleaning gone wrong. Do not be afraid to advocate for yourself if something seems off! I went in for a routine cleaning and now have to deal with several issues after that visit. Being in pain for over week I had to go back to the DDS to see what was wrong. I came in with 1 issue, and he "found" something totally not related that he said needed to be fixed right away. I felt like I was not being heard and he just wanted to move forward with the procedure. I was not given any costs, told what to expect and was simply told to move over to the other side of the office so that he could get started. I felt that something was off, and this did not seem right - so I asked for a cost breakdown and said I would schedule the appointment for another day. I immediately made an appointment at another DDS for a second opinion for the next day. That DDS agreed with me and said that the procedure he was trying to push was NOT NEEDED! The new DDS used the SAME images from this DDS to show why it was not necessary. Plus, the care plan that I was given on the 1st visit did not match the care plan I was given a week later! They showed I had a filing on a tooth that was not had never happened. Do not be afraid to question the professional and get a second opinion when things seem off!

He has practiced in the DC and Northern Virginia area for more than 20 years, placed his first dental implant in 2002, and reports having placed more than 10,000 implants. He also serves on the board of directors of the American Academy of Clear Aligners, has a special interest in obstructive sleep apnea, and holds five US patents for sleep apnea appliances.
