Great office and staff. The initial consult they were very thorough regarding procedures, what could or could not wait, and process of my son’s extractions. At the appointment, they kept us updated as needed and were very warm and caring, not just towards my son, but to us parents, as well. It’s been a few days and my son is healing well, with minimal pain. They seem to have done a great job. I would recommend! :)

Hey folks I rarely write reviews but I just really wanted to say how amazing my surgeon Dr. Wechter, and honestly everyone else on staff, was. I had four impacted wisdom teeth with nerve involvement and I have chronic illness which made my surgery extra complicated. The last surgeon I saw wanted to extract all four with only local anesthetic and said no doctor would do it any other way. Lo and behold this office saw me a day after calling. They took pano’s, which they graciously chose not to bill me for because they hadn’t had time to get them from the last office. After looking at the pano the surgeon came in and explained what the surgery was and it’s level of complexity. He even let me know that one of the teeth may need a corenechtomy but that he would do his best to fully remove. He was very patient and was willing to explain all the details I asked for. He also let me go under full anesthesia as there was no medical reason for me to not be sedated. The surgery itself went smoothly, and he managed to fully remove all four, even the most difficult one. Afterwards he gave me a packet with all the info I needed in case I forgot. I’ve been healing up well so far and when I had extra pain they managed to get another doctor to see me that same day on the weekend. Since then it’s been smooth sailing and my pain+inflammation after 5 days is very very low. Every other member in my family has had extremely painful wisdom teeth removal, with massive inflammation, but the surgeons here really do seem to be just that good, I had little to no inflammation at all. If you need your wisdom teeth pulled I can’t think of a better office.

Dr. Jones and her team are the best. My implant surgery was done without a hitch. Every step was explained to me and was completed smoothly and efficiently. I am extremely appreciative of the great care Dr. Jones and her team provided me.

Staff is very nice, but they don't explain to you anything about insurance billing. They never told me that the facility was out of network with my insurance. I ended up paying a lot out of pocket. Now 2 months later, I get another bill from a lab. I was not aware (because they never told me I would get another bill from the Lab department) of another balance due. They didn't tell me that the Lab department would send me another bill. From what I understood, I was billed the full amount up front for the procedure and I paid it.

The doctors are amazing and the quality of their work is truly excellent. I will have to say that the financial staff are very poor about communicating and helping you plan for the overall cost of service. Beware as they did not tell me I had a $3200 payment due literally a few minutes before the implant.

About Santa Barbara Center for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Santa Barbara Center for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery cares for patients at its Pedregosa Street office, located at 9 East Pedregosa Street in central Santa Barbara. This is a surgical specialty practice, so dental implants are planned and placed by board certified oral and maxillofacial surgeons. Implant care ranges from replacing a single missing tooth to full arch and All-on-4 treatment that replaces all of the teeth in a jaw, and same day implant placement is available in select cases. The team plans each case with 3D imaging and digital planning software, and offers a range of sedation options so patients stay comfortable through surgery.

Beyond implants, the practice provides bone grafting for patients who need to rebuild jaw bone before an implant can be placed, wisdom teeth removal, facial trauma repair, and corrective jaw surgery. The Pedregosa Street office is one of three locations the group operates in Santa Barbara County, alongside an office on Patterson Avenue and one in the Santa Ynez Valley, and it is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Patients considering dental implants can schedule a consultation here to review 3D scans, bone health, and treatment options with a surgeon before deciding on a plan.
