After having not been to a dentist in over 10 years, I found out I needed my wisdom teeth removed asap. Center for Advanced Dentistry in Auburn got me checked out right away and then referenced me to Southern Maine Oral Surgery. They got me in as soon as they could for a consultation and another 2 weeks later pulled all my wisdom teeth for me. Dr. Cooper and his team made me feel comfortable the whole time and the extraction went off without a hitch. Good enough that I will feel comfortable coming back if I run into any more oral issues.
This practice seemed reasonably priced to me and they were very transparent about the cost. Not having insurance was no issue and after my consultation they gave me the cost of the extractions which made planning for it nice and easy on my end. Overall, great experience over here and would definitely suggest to those hesitant about seeing a dentist.

The staff is extremely professional and kind. They worked with me to schedule my brother, who is on MaineCare. Even though they are very busy, they all managed to find appointments for him and be courteous and professional at all times. Outstanding follow up!

I had a partial wisdom tooth removed today, and the whole experience went well from the consult to the end result. The consultation went really quickly, not from being rushed, but just that the surgeon seemed very experienced and the supporting staff had everything prepped well. For the surgery itself, I think I was there for like 45 minutes from when I checked in to when I left. I was kind of freaking out about it once I got there, because I’ve had bad dental experiences in the past, but the staff calmed me down. Multiple people checked on me, got me oxygen and helped get my vitals locked back in to normal ranges. Everybody was really punctual based on their roles. After the surgeon got in I was maybe awake for two minutes, then I woke up not feeling like a zombie, got my after care instructions, and got on my way. My wife drove us home and we picked up over the counter pain meds, and I’ve been barely needing them surprisingly. I was really nervous going in because I’ve had bad dental experiences in the past, but this time around went very smooth. The surgeon also called me about 12 hours after my surgery to see how I was doing. I didn’t expect that, but it shows he cares about his patients. I really appreciate that he did that. I was planning to write a review after how well the surgery went, but that motivated me to actually take some time to type up the review. I’d highly recommend them if you need any type of surgical dental work done. Thanks to everyone that helped me out today!

I was extremely nervous going in. The staff listened to my fears and were very accomodating. They are very good with bedside manner and have the conversation skills to help keep as calm as possible. When I woke up from sedation, supportive care was great. They explained everything to expect to my husband and also send me home with a support package and info. They scheduled all medications to easily be picked up by my husband/driver which were ready by the time we got back (we live 2 hrs away). I know this may be person dependent buf 2nd day out from getting all 4 wisdom teeth pulled, and I am surprised at how little swelling or pain there is upon waking up (havent had meds since I went to bed night before). I know the swelling period isnt over, but it was a pleasant surprise that I also attribute to the surgeon skills and post op care and following their advice. I was also thankful for the chapstick and headwrap/icepack. They were lifesavers! Edit to add I had Dr. Cooper!

My son couldn't stop talking about how Dr. Crawford made him feel so safe, thank you for taking such great care of him!! He wasn't too happy with the one older nurse in recovery though, not entirely sure if she was just having an off day or if she really is short patienced but regardless all the other staff was very kind and compassionate. It was worth the drive hands down. I especially liked the fact that Dr. Crawford himself called later in the evening to check on my son, that meant a lot to me. Thank you all so very much!
