I made my first appt at Christiana center for oral surgery..nov 2024 to get 2 teeth pulled i was told i have to get a bone graft at the time of the extractions if i was ever considering a implant as they cannot do that at a later date. i would later find out this to be inaccurate. they quoted me $1,100 per tooth out of pocket per implant not including extractions ... . i was told it was better for my out of pocket costs to do them both on separate dates one nov 12th i paid 566.40 and one dec 17th i paid 665.00. they would then charge me another 566.00 on 12-18 that i had to find out on my own! saying they miscalculated the insurance coverage. I would later find out this was inaccurate as i should of had them both done it was more beneficial for them this way not me it cost me the extra $800 per my insurance My next appt was feb 19th 2025 my insurance had replenished and i had 3 more teeth that needed extraction. When i asked them about the previous visit and coverages they apologized for the confusion but said there was nothing they could do at this point saying it was a honest mistake and that coordinator no longer worked there...On feb 19 they preformed that procedure for the other 3 teeth with bone graft i asked again if i had to get the grafts done now or could i wait as my daughter was getting married and i didnt really have the money they said again no you must get the grafts done now if you ever want an implant and it cost me $1,016 out of pocket for all 3! or $1797 for 2???? In may 2025 i got supplemental insurance to help get the implants the first of 2026. but on 7/9/25 i had 2 more teeth that needed out using my supplemental insurance. they quoted me $2500 out of pocket for both? i asked why so much they said it was my cigna insurance and it wasn't very good insurance, but i would get $1000 back when i turn in my paperwork as they are out of network. As my daughter was getting i opted to get the one tooth out that was the worse. they told me I had to go on the cigna web site and print out a submission form to recoup that monies. in October i got a denial letter saying the form had missing vendor information when i went up to their office the lady said THEY have to fill it out and they would send it in, after months of back and forth i find out they filled out the form so they got the reimbursement and didnt tell me untill i had my insurance company call them and tell them they owed that to me...finally in may 2026 they gave me only $440? meaning i left $560 of benefits on the table in 2025 that i could of used due to their mistake AND per my insurance i could of had both teeth pulled for same price!!! When i went back in February 2026 to FINAILY GET MY FIRST 2 IMPLANTS they told me my out of pocket for 2 implants with full insurance was $5000??? i was stunned i asked their insurance coordinator why such an increase he said the $1100 was the 2025 price? i have seen 3 different coordinators in my time there HEARTBROKEN AND DISCORAGED i went back to my dentist and got 2 partials that cost me $900 thinking i would never afford the implants.. literally a week after i got them the oral care office calls me and says the previous coordinator had made several mistakes and the correct price was indeed $1100? on 7/1 i went back in they wanted to see what they could do and when all of this came out they simply said were sorry but nothing we can do at this point and they have not president to speak to

I came in for a consultation and left with significant concerns I feel are worth sharing. The waiting room was small and cramped, with an odor I can only describe as stale cigarette smoke — whether from a patient or the space itself, it was not a calming environment before a medical appointment. The office was clearly busy with only one staff member managing the front desk. As someone who tends to stare at the floor when anxiety kicks in, the LVP flooring didn't go unnoticed — haphazardly laid with large, visible gaps between the planks, it didn't give a clean or polished impression. For a practice performing surgical procedures that are anything but inexpensive, the overall condition of the space felt like corners had been cut — and that's not a feeling you want going into a consultation for very costly procedures. My appointment was at 3:30p and I wasn't called back until 4:30p. Delays happen, but not a single acknowledgment or update was offered — during the wait. I couldn't help but think that if I had arrived an hour late, I'd have been charged a no-show fee and rescheduled. The wait was finally acknowledged as I was leaving when someone said, "Thanks for being patient with us today". Unfortunately, this acknowledgment was too late as it was already frustrating. The consultation itself moved very quickly. When I asked about risks and long-term considerations of implants, I was told there were "absolutely none." That is not accurate, and frankly it was more alarming than reassuring. Informed consent requires an honest discussion of risks — dismissing that question is a concern regardless of the setting. I had also communicated that I did not want sedation and was comfortable with local anesthesia. It was still pushed and included on my estimate with the suggestion I could decide the day of the procedure. I have high anxiety which is probably clearly marked in my referral, and I don't believe that decision was made with my comfort in mind. I believe it was for the comfort of the provider and as a way to increase the overall amount being billed. The financial portion was equally frustrating. I was handed a tablet to sign with the signature box positioned directly over the document — making it impossible to read what I was agreeing to. When I asked to review it, the staff member said "I'll give you a minute" and left the room before I could respond. This financial coordinator was unable to answer basic insurance and billing questions, and when I asked for additional clarity, the responses felt impatient. Also, the workstation is poorly positioned behind the patient chair, leaving you speaking to a wall while staff work behind you — an uncomfortable and unwelcoming dynamic. I was not offered to be scheduled before I left and the next steps were not clearly explained. I was given my estimate and shown the door while being told I did not need to stop at the desk. The estimate overall feels inflated but I am confused as to why no one tried to schedule the next step. Overall, the experience felt rushed, disorganized, and lacking in transparency. I did not feel confident moving forward and will be seeking care elsewhere.

I was recommend this place by my orthodontist. I'm so glad I gave them a chance. We have been here twice now, once for myself and once for my daughter. The staff is amazing especially Leslie. They make the whole process easy. From check in to having the tooth extracted to being released 45 minutes later. They even checked in to make sure she was OK. They have an after hours number just in case any issues arise. Thankfully they didn't. This will be our go to place from now on. Kudos to everyone at their Newark and Middletown office.

Excellent, professional care. Skip Dover and come to Middletown. I had 1 tooth extracted and 2 implants. Couldn’t have been smoother. High praise coming from a nurse.

My experience with Christiana Center for Oral Surgery in Middletown, Delaware with Dr. Asmaro and his entire staff were very professional, friendly and compassionate with me that I felt well at ease with the whole experience. The extraction was quick and painless. Thank you so much for such a wonderful experience . I have recommended you highly to several people already.
