I’ve been coming here for almost 4years now and I love it!! Dr. Shelton and his team are wonderful .
The office is aesthetically pleasing, always sparkling clean and fresh . The wait time is almost non-existent because I’m always seen less than 10mins of waiting . I can count that I will be seen on time and be out expeditiously.
A big shout out to Cindy for doing an excellent job with my cleaning, she was very detail oriented, explained everything she was about to do and answered any questions I had. She truly went above and beyond and I am very appreciative!

This dentist and his staff are the epitome of black excellence an husband/wife team and they educate you about how important it is to have better hygiene habits and what happens when you don’t. This is a state of the art facility with highly skilled and knowledgeable professionals. Highly recommended for the entire family as they cater to both children and adults. It’s an experience worth having, you won’t be disappointed.

Absolutely amazing! Dr. Gray is so sweet and so knowledgeable, she was very thorough and explaining what she was seeing in my imaging. Hands-down, best dentist in New Orleans!

Dr. Lex was so nice and my son had such a great experience. He said he wants to go to the dentist every day!! Very nice office, modern and clean! I’m very happy with my visit.

Care spans all ages, from pediatric dentistry, including a dedicated kids' zone, through the full range of adult services such as teeth cleanings, deep cleanings, root canals, bridges, whitening, clear aligners, partial and full dentures, oral cancer screenings, and gum disease screenings.
For patients with missing teeth, the practice offers dental implants as a way to restore both the look and function of a smile, whether a single tooth or multiple teeth need replacing. The office explains that an implant is a titanium post placed in the jawbone that can support a replacement crown, bridge, or denture, and notes benefits that include long-lasting results with proper maintenance, easier upkeep than traditional dentures, custom-made crowns that blend with surrounding teeth, and preservation of the jawbone. In some cases an immediate implant can be placed on the same day a tooth is extracted. A consultation appointment is used to determine whether a patient is a good candidate based on health history, bone density, and oral health.
Meet the Doctors
Care at Tulane Family Dentistry is led by Dr. Alexis Russell, DDS, a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist known to her patients as Dr. Lex, and Dr. William Shelton, DDS, a cosmetic dentist. Dr. Russell is passionate about giving every child positive dental experiences that build lifelong oral health habits. Dr. Shelton is a New Orleans native who returned to the city to give back to his community, having graduated from Xavier University of Louisiana with a degree in Chemistry. They are supported by a team that includes hygienists, pediatric dental assistants, and administrative coordinators.
